Select your desired language and click Next. The following window will be displayed:

Enter a password for the default administrator account and click Next. The following window will be displayed:

Set the correct Time Zone on the device and click Next. The following window will be displayed:

Select the CLID presentation method you wish to use – this should be left at the default value unless specifically required by your telephony maintainer. Click Next, the following window will be displayed:

Enter the appropriate Access Point Name (APN) for your cellular network provider:

Some of the most common APN's are as follows but your APN may differ depending upon network and tariff eg. contract or PAYG or special deals.

Click Next, the following window will be displayed:

Specify whether you wish the WiFi element to be enabled and define the wireless network name you wish to be broadcast (SSID). Click Next, the following window will be displayed:

Select the level of protection you wish the built-in firewall software to provide. Click Next, a summary of your installation selections will be displayed. Review the settings and click Finish to complete the setup wizard. You will then be displayed the main home interface of the unit:

To initiate a connection to the Internet, click the Connect button.

If your cellular provider requires a username and password to connect to the 3G / GPRS service, this will need to be entered.

NOTE - although most providers include a username and password along with the connection settings, in a lot of cases this is not required so it is recommended that you try connecting without them initially.

To enter a username and password, click on the link to ‘Go to Advanced Mode’ at the top of the screen.

Click on the icon for ‘Internet Connection’ at the top of the screen.

Edit the Settings of the ‘WAN Cellular Connection’, the following window will be displayed:

Here you can edit the APN, Username and Password information.

Your GlobeSurfer III has been successfully configured for Internet access.


For WiFi Settings for iPhones and iPads we recommend that you change the settings for the WiFi to channel 11 and these devices will then be able to see the router. We also recommend using WPA2 / PSK for security encryption as we find this the most compatible.
