Fixed IP SIM Cards For CCTV

Using a Fixed IP SIM card with your 4G Router will make implementing and using your 4G router for remote access and monitoring of your CCTV DVR / NVR or IP camera just like using a normal wired broadband connection that comes with a static IP address.

The Fixed IP SIM card is inserted inside the 4G router sim card slot and provides a mobile broadband connection with a public IP address. You can then use that IP address to remotely connect to the router and using port forwarding gaining access to the devices sitting on the LAN side of the router.

For example, if you are using a Teltonika 4G Router with a fixed IP SIM card and you had connected a CCTV DVR unit to the Teltonika Router and given it an internal (LAN) IP address of 192.168.0.100 and wanted to remotely connect to your DVR then you would first set the port forwarding within the Teltonika router settings to route all traffic on external port 3000 to route to internal address 192.168.0.100 port 80 (assuming the DVR uses port 80 as its web browser interface).

To access the router you would then open a web browser on your PC and enter the public address of the Fixed IP SIM Card (eg. 109.73.86.29) and the external port you have set in the router port forwarding table so using the above example it would look like http://109.73.86.29:3000 and this would then connect you to the fixed IP address and then when the request hits the router asking for port 3000 then the router would direct the request to the internal IP address of 192.168.0.100:80

It really is that simple to use a 4G router with a Fixed IP address to remotely connect to your CCTV equipment.

We offer Three Mobile Fixed IP SIM cards and Vodafone Fixed IP SIM cards and will shortly be offering Orange Fixed IP SIM cards.

If you want to use a 4G router without a Fixed IP SIM Card then you would have to rely on using Dynamic DNS (DynDNS) but most mobile phone networks do not support this and will not provide the correct IP address of the router because the mobile networks use Network Address Translation across their own networks so you would never be able to remotely connect to your 3G router.

Our single network Fixed IP SIM cards are only for use in the UK and we also offer roaming SIM cards which can connect to all of the UK cellular networks.
